The world is again shifting under our feet and the incidents of violence and oppression, and new threats of violence are reported in the news daily. Unity March Against Hate (UMAH) is as important today as it was a year ago. The Legacy of those who have worked for justice cannot be lost amid the crisis of pandemic and new social unrest.
If you believe that our community is stronger because of our diversity, and that we must care for and support each other in spite of our differences, you can become an advocate for UMAH. This year’s theme is to honor the work and stories of those who have lifted us toward equality and whose visions of peaceful prosperity provided a lens to be able to see the bending arc of justice even in troubled times.
Submissions should showcase this theme and the following information should be included on the face of an 8.5 x 11” high resolution image:
- The phrase: Unity March Against Hate (or acronym: UMAH)
- The Year: 2021
Submissions should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org with subject line 2021 Poster Contest Entry
- Email body should contain: Artists full name and age and school Name of parents (if under 18) phone and address and any additional emails you want used for contest communication
- Deadline is Midnight October 4th, 2021
The winner of this year’s contest will be announced on social media by October 9th and will be contacted regarding the cash prize.
Please note that any art submitted will be used to create posters and other visual assets for UMAH 2021 and art submitted for this contest will remain useable by UMAH exclusively unless otherwise negotiated in the future by UMAH and the artist.
